Hi all,
I just want to say a big thank you to you all for the fun weekend in Norfolk with the Norwegians! How many book club's can say they are twinned with a Norwegian bookclub. I was explaining this to Trevor this afternoon and his comment was "That's bizarre"! The conversations and the connections that we had this weekend were very satisfying and enriching. The discussions on 'Shyness and Dignity' and 'Behind the Scenes at the Museum' were so interesting when the cultural aspects of the novels were expanded upon. The good food and wine and general mucking in together made it such a pleasure. I shall look forward to the next reunion with our Norwegian friends. There was talk of an Italian trip as Karina does a lot of tours there, wouldn't that be fun?!
Shelton house was shabby chic at it's best. Thanks to the advance party who cleaned up the mucky dishes and readied the house and dinner for those picking up the Norwegians. It was most welcome after the traffic nightmare from Cambridge.
I hope you all have had a safe journey home! I have Rachel's postcards and much of Heather's things. Pam found a silver bangle that I think she still has. I'm going to try to email all the settings to you all again so that you can log on as contributors. I wonder if someone can email this to the Norwegians to and then I am going to look into how to post pictures! To make up for my consignment to the maid's room, I had a wonderful bath this morning in the lovely old fashioned bath on the second floor - Pam, Heather, Margot and Kari came in to take pictures of me resplendant in bubbles! And Kari took some lovely pics of the bluebell wood outside by the pond and the morning tai chi sessions(actually it was qigong). I will send you a link to a picasa album so that we can put our photos all together online as I know I would like some of the fotos that others took esp in Southwold. and Please add your comments and observations here too so I am not the only author!!! x Paige

This is so great! Thank you, Paige for inviting "the Norwegians" (and the "Swede"...) to the blog. I have little time now, but will contribute more later :)

Apologies, that does sound rather impersonal 'the Norwegians'- I just didn't dare try to spell your names out! And if we go there we have to expand to include the Scot, the Irish, the American, the Swede...
